For many years the "Traminer
Böhmische", 10 enthusiastic hobby-musicians, has been engaged in a variety
of worldly and ecclesiastical events, in South Tyrol as well as abroad.
 |
| The quite peculiar and graceful name "Böhmische"
is only used in South Tyrol and if we try to go into detail about the origins of the name
"Böhmische", we come to the conclusion that even experts have doubts about the
right definition. In general we think that the term "Böhmische" comes from the
musicians of Böhmen, who in the 18th century moved through South Tyrol to play for church
congresses, weddings or similar festivals. |

The "Traminer Böhmische" wants to show its experiences and musical abilities
gathered through numerous performances and rehearsals. In this way the musicians want to
contribute to the cultivation and preservation of "real Tyrolean folk
music".
The musicians through their performances try to express the enthusiasm and love for a
pleasant, but also thoroughly sophisticated music style. The numerous performances, among
them the participation in various radio- and TV- transmissions as well as last but not
least the recently published music production, are a sign of a very lively musical
activity. Walter Thaler manages and directs the "Traminer Böhmische". |
